Quesnel Wins Communities In Bloom...
The Quesnel City gardening crew, Local 1050 members Liz Dodd, Yvonne Beamish and Pete Reiger, along with all the City Workers who help keep Quesnel clean and well maintained have helped Quesnel win the 2007 National Communities in Bloom award in its category for Canada.
The Quesnel gardening team make Quesnel stand out for its great floral arrangements across the City year after year.
“I am so proud of the work that has been done by all those involved to continue making Quesnel a great place to live, work and play in,” said Mayor Nate Bello. “As we strive to attract people to our community, it’s efforts like this that show the world Quesnel is a great city.”
The City of Quesnel was competing in the 10,001 to 13,000 population category with Gravenhurst, Ontario; Central Elgin, Ontario; Ingersoll, Ontario; Lacombe, Alberta; Cold Lake, Alberta; Wetaskiwin, Alberta and Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
The City of Quesnel joins fellow national champions for 2007 Tiverton, Ontario (1 -1,000), Millet, Alberta (1,001 – 3,000), Hampton, New-Brunswick (3,001 – 5,000), Aylmer, Ontario (5,001 – 10,000), Charlottetown, P.E.I. (20,001 – 50,000), Medicine Hat, Alberta (50,001 – 100,000), Kingston, Ontario (100,001 – 300,000), and Toronto, Ontario (More than 300,000).
